ABOUT THE BALSAMIC:
Our Modena PGI Harvest Blueberry Balsamic Vinegar glaze is bursting with blueberry flavor! We take and harvest the blueberries when they are most ripe and freeze-dry them for maximum flavor and health benefits. The result is a thick and extremely flavorful balsamic. A little will go a very long way! Drizzle it over salads, fresh fruit, yogurt and cut cheeses. The deep blueberry flavor also makes it ideal for tenderizing meats such as chicken, salmon or lamb. Simply glaze a thin amount on the meat, before cooking for tenderizing and after cooking for extra juicy flavor.
INGREDIENTS:
This blueberry patch reminiscent balsamic vinegar is flavored with all natural, simple and limited ingredients. It is PGI certified which means that it was made using the same methods, that date as far back as the 11th century in Emilia-Romagna Italy. These methods, commemorated in time and history are far superior to that of our mass produced counterparts and is among the finest of traditionally made balsamic vinegars. To follow the time honored tradition of superior craftsmanship, all of our balsamic vinegars are made with fresh freeze-dried fruits and vegetables; not preservative laden purees, juices or unnatural chemical extracts. The absence of water will ensure that it ages smoothly and more importantly, that it will taste even better as it ages and lock in the nutritional benefits! Without the water, all of our balsamic vinegars are non perishable, do not require refrigeration and are extremely flavorful.
VACUUM BLENDED:
Every step of the way, we make sure to provide superior quality, to ensure we provide a healthy, quality product. We add our ingredients through the brand new and superior method of vacuum blending. Normally, blending in fruit or vegetables would cause oxidation. When you leave an apple out and exposed, it turns brown. This is oxidation. Oxygen much like water, can not only cause fruit to rapidly expire, but neutralizes the antioxidant activity. As our fruits are freeze-dried, expiration is not a concern, but we did want to make sure our superior nutritional profile was not hampered by oxidation. Vacuum blending also provides a profoundly more fresh and flavorful taste.
PAIRING RECOMMENDATIONS:
For a savory glaze, pair with our Cilantro Lime Extra Virgin Olive Oil. This will add a succulent depth to your glaze or marinade. It also increases the versatility of the vinegar. The sweet blueberry and tart lime are a great compliment. The cilantro lends it a nice savory infusion. The combination is great drizzled on salads and vegetables. Use it as a glaze on white meats, such as salmon, chicken or pork. Or simply pour it over shrimp tacos or a gourmet turkey sandwich.
